Orienteering

The West Mesquite Orienteering team is for people who like being outdoors, and like being competitive. Orienteering is a major sport in Europe with popularity increasing in the U.S. This sport requires map reading skills and long distance running. Both of these skills will be taught and strengthened with the help of fellow JROTC students as long as the person interested in O-Team is willing to commit. Being in the O-Team is exciting and there are plenty of out of town meets for those who enjoy traveling as well.

This is a team that also practices and preforms exhibition routines in a military fashion. Unlike the Armed Drill Team, Unarmed routines are composed of marching with a little bit of step beats in a military style. This team is not exclusive for females.

The PT team is for very competitive physical fit cadets that compete during drill meets The team is composed of both female and male cadets. Strength and endurance are built by becoming part of the PT team. PT stands for Physical Training

The Saber Team is a select team that conducts drill and ceremony with saber and sword. One of the most notable "Manual of Arms with Saber and Sword" drill movements that the team performs is the "Arch of Sabers." The Saber Team performs on several occasions such as the Homecoming Game, Military Ball, and Air Force drill meets for competition.
